8:30 - Drop off (DTC 405) 9:00 - Breakfast (DTC 401) 9:15 - Welcome and Discussion of Itinerary (DTC 405) Project leaders will welcome students and outline the day’s events. 9:30 - Name Game (DTC 405) Students will sit in a circle. Each student provides an adejective that starts with the same letter as their first name. For example, "Kind Kelly" or "Angelic Anna." The next student in the circle must repeat all the previous names and adjectives as well as adding their own. 9:45 - Robot Olympics - Driving a Robot through an Obstacle Course (DTC 405) Students will compete against each other to drive COTSM's through an obstacle course to a goal. 10:30 - Robot Olympics - Driving a Robot without Line of Sight (DTC 405) Students will compete against each other to drive the COTSM's to a target from outside of the room where the robots are located. 11:15 - Robot Olympics - Tossing a Robot (Outside weather permitting) Students will compete to throw the robot as far as possible and see that the robot survives. 11:45 - Robot Olympics Champions (DTC 405) Students who won each of the three events will be awarded a small prize. 12:00 - Lunch (DTC 401 or outside weather permitting) 1:00 - How to Program AIBOs (DTC 405) Students will be given a short presentation outlining the basics for programming Sony AIBOs using MEdit. 1:30 - Programming the AIBOs (DTC 405) Students will be given the opportunity to program AIBOs using MEdit. 3:30 - Pick-up (DTC 405) |
