New Scientist features Hybrid robot

Created by researchers at the University of Minnesota's Center for Distributed Robotics, the hybrid robot spends most of its time rolling on the ground but can also transform into a mini-helicopter. The robot uses separate motors to run the wheels and the rotors rather than a complex system capable of both. Read the article - May 25, 2011

KARE11 highlights lab's use of Microsoft Kinect in research

Researchers, in a collaboration between the Institute of Child Development, the University of Minnesota Medical School and the College of Science and Engineering, are exploring the use of technology to diagnose children who show symptoms of an array of mental disorders including obsessive-compulsive disorder and attention deficit disorder.
